Thank you for visiting Tobishi Kennels home of American and Canadian Champion Shiba Inus and Alaskan Malamutes. Owned by Tammy and Alex Szabo.

Alex and I have owned dogs all of our lives. My first dog was an Irish Setter and his was a German Shepherd, so we both always knew we would have dogs all of our lives, but I don't think eigther one of us thought we would be this involed with them.

I have been showing dogs for over 20 years now. I started out in junior showmanship and have moved on up to conformation. All of my dogs are completely owner handled to their championships and beyond. My first malamute was shown at 6 months of age taking a 4 point major. He finished very quickly including a group placement from the classes. My Angel has taken Best of Opposite sex at 2 specialties from the working bitch class and was best of winners at the Alaskan Malamute National specialty in Canada. We are currently the owners and handler of a ranked Shiba all-breed, Toby. He is our second Shiba and is a great pleasure to live with. Our first Shiba, Vixen, left us at the age of 14 years old. She will always be missed!!!! Shiann finished her American Champion on June 12, 2005. She received her Canadian Championship in October 2004. We have a new addition to our family thanks to Toby and Shiann. On Oct. 31st we had our first litter. They produced a very nice litter of 3 and we kept a red girl...Tobishi's Not Just a Pretty Face. Maiya finished her AKC Championship with a 4 point major over a bitch special Jan. 5, 2008! She is being shown exclusively in the bred-by class. We also had the opportunity to import a very nice red male from Japan. Taki came to live with us on June 25th and I am so happy to own him.

I have also shown and finished a large number of other breeds ranging from Alaskan Malamutes to Rhodesian Ridgebacks to Chihuahuas for other people.
